How Not To Use Instagram In 2020

Whilst Instagram can be used for a wide variety of reasons and can be really fun, it is quite easy to get things wrong with the application. This can result in a decrease in your following – something that no one wants! If this has happened to you and you want help increasing your number of followers and widening your overall audience, then visit the guys over at SocialMeep who can help you to do this organically via their growth service and automation tool. Some of the things that you need to avoid doing on the platform include…

Buying Followers

In no circumstance should you ever buy followers in order to increase your audience on Instagram. There is no benefit to doing this and in fact it will only work to diminish your chances of being popular, as these followers will never like any of your posts or comment on them. What you should do is take the time to grow your audience organically with followers who are receptive to the content that you post.

Following To Unfollow

The method of attempting to increase the number of accounts that follow you by following an account only to then unfollow it at a later date is not only ineffective but is also rather rude. This is not what this, or any other, social media platform was created for. The only accounts that you should follow are ones that you have a genuine interest in and want to form a relationship with. By doing this, your audience will naturally grow anyway.

Following All Accounts

You may think that following every single account that follows you is a pleasant thing to do, but you should not do this if you have no interest in viewing the type of content that they post. You should never feel pressured into following someone purely because they follow you. If you begin to see posts that you have not interest in, it is likely that you will begin to not enjoy using the app, and so will become less likely to use it in the future.

Always Automatically Sharing

Whilst you may want to sometimes share your Instagram posts on your other social media platforms, such as Facebook or Twitter, it is not good practice to do this with every single piece of content that you put out. After all, if someone is only following your account on Facebook, they have no incentive to follow you on Instagram also if you post the exact same content on there too.

Although this is just a small representation of some of the things that you should not do on Instagram in order to be successful, there are of course a number of other things and so just doing these things alone will not guarantee a good level of performance on the social media platform.
