Understanding The Ingredients In CBD Oil

For those people out there who take CBD oil, such as penguin cbd, on a daily basis have they ever actually thought about what ingredients are in it other than the plant extract that is? If you have bought your CBD from a reputable company, such as the ones that provide the best cbd oil, then all of the ingredients should be on the back of the bottle – but how many people fully understand what each and every chemical on there is? Some of the ones that you will likely see are terpenoids, phytonutrients, flavonoids, and MCT oil.

It’s in the oil

On its own, CBD is not effective when isolated as a pure molecule. When completely pure CBD is extracted from the plant that it comes from (cannabis) and then dried out, it somewhat resembles ordinary table salt. It has a bland, white appearance, that could get mistaken for something more sinister (i.e. cocaine) by someone who is not familiar with it.

In its pure isolated form, CBD cannot be absorbed and then metabolized into the human body. This is why it needs to be infused into an oil. Doing this changes things so that the CBD molecule turns soluble with the crystalline solid dissolving and becoming attached to the molecular in the oil. At this point, they can be absorbed and utilized by the human body.

When it comes to Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) oil, there is still much misunderstanding around it. In its purest form, it is an extract from coconut oil. Because of the way in which it is efficiently digested, it is now not only being added to many different brands of CBD oil, but also to other health supplements. You should always look out for this on the ingredients list of the CBD oil that you intend to purchase.

Hemp extract

Many CBD oils are labelled with the ingredient ‘Hemp Extract’. This means that the oil is a blend of the full spectrum, containing hemp compounds, as well as the therapeutic CBD. Most oils that are full spectrum contain each and every natural hemp compound that there is, including omega acids, flavonoids, terpenes, phytonutrients, and phytocannabinoids, such as CBC and CBG.

The reason why Hemp Extract is featured on the ingredients label rather than detailing each and every one is likely because they are not really sure as to how many compounds are included in that particular strain of hemp. By simply labelling it ‘Hemp Extract’ they are covering themselves and customers are made aware that what they are getting is more than just CBD on its own.

Having hemp extract is the CBD oil that you use is actually a really good thing given the fact that there have been a number of studies which show that it works better when all of the cannabis plant are present, rather than just being by itself. This is why you should look out for those CBD oils that say ‘Hemp Extract’ om it rather than those labelled as 99 % pure CBD.
