Did you remember the moment when you first took the gray joystick in your arms? Well, on 3rd December 1994 was exactly 20 years since the Play Station appeared – the most popular gaming console in the world. On that day, i.e. exactly 20 years ago, Sony launched its first console in the Japanese market – PlayStation. Only a few people could have guessed what impact will have this little gray box to the video game industry, and even less people could have imagined that the platform will survive for twenty years. Shuhei Yoshida, president of the Sony Company, for this occasion on his blog wrote a few lines and thanked everyone who spent the past two decades enjoying with this awesome console. 20 years is a long time. In 1994 many thought that the Sony is insane to own a game console at these years, according to some people then, crowded market. Who could blame them? The Sony has been known for his work on consumer electronics and audio equipment. But, gaming consoles? – Yoshida is also thanking afterwards to all loyal players who helped Sony’s PlayStation to come where it stands today, on top of the world and it is considered as one of the best video game consoles in history. To mark the 20 birthday of their game platform Sony has announced a special limited edition of the PlayStation 4, which comes in gray, identical color that used for the first console, which will be available in only 12,300 copies, which matches to the number launched PlayStation in 1994.
Twenty years ago in the USA arrived the first Play Station console – the future number 1 in video games consoles. The fourth generation of consoles, PlayStation 4 is still the best-selling. As a reward for loyal players all over the world, Sony, as celebrant, announced the major campaign of selling games for all generations of consoles at a discounted price. The list of games is very big, so if love classic or modern games, there is something for everyone to find.
